Uppsala University hereby declares the following positions to be open for application:
Two PhD positions in Psychology
at the Department of Psychology. Starting date as soon as possible.
The doctoral positions are at the Babylab www.babylab.se at the Department of Psychology www.psyk.uu.se. The research group consists of twenty researchers and doctoral students who investigate motor, cognitive, and social development in infants and pre-schoolers. The Uppsala Babylab has a strong international focus and has recently been evaluated as world-leading (KOF-07 och KOF-11).
Project description: The PhD positions are part of a Marie Curie Initial Training Network called ACT devoted to investigating action production and action understanding in infancy. ACT is a collaboration between 4 universities and 3 research companies in northern Europe. Both PhDs will primarily work at the Uppsala Babylab. In addition the collaborative nature of the project requires that PhDs participate in network meetings and spend a few months at other network locations.
The PhD position is for four years and the doctoral student will primarily engage in research. The positions are financed by scholarship for the first 3 years. A mobility- and travel allowance, and career exploratory will also be available. The last year is financed by the Department resources.

In order to facilitate mobility within EU Marie Curie regulations require that network members working in Sweden are recruited from a different country. The collaborative nature of the project also requires the ability to communicate and write in English.
Further valued skills: Programming skills (MATLAB) and experience working with small children are both beneficial.
Early-stage researchers are defined as those who are, at the time of selection, in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in
