Uppsala University hereby declares the following positions to be open for application:
Researcher at post-doc level in diabetes research
within the strategic research consortium EXODIAB. Full time position during two year. Starting date as soon as possible.
The position holder will perform research work under the supervision of a group leader associated with the strategic research consortium EXODIAB (Excellence of diabetes research in Sweden). The position can be based at any department within Uppsala University where the supervisor is affiliated. Applications are welcome also from candidates that do not already work within an EXODIAB-related project.
Project description: The overall aim of EXODIAB is to develop tools for prevention and successful treatment of diabetes by defining the molecular events that lead to the different subtypes of diabetes. Achievement of these ambitious goals requires a broad multidisciplinary approach. The present position is open for clinical as well as experimental diabetes research projects that address questions related to the overall aims of EXODIAB. Qualifications: The applicant should have a PhD in a relevant area. Particular emphasis is given to scientific excellence in the subject field. Prior experience of diabetes research is a merit. It will be considered advantageous if the application concerns a project involving collaboration between diabetes researchers within Uppsala or between Uppsala and Lund Universities. The application should contain a proposal of a project that can be performed within EXODIAB. Emphasis will be put on personal ability and interpersonal skills.
